Why your best process fix will fail without owner clarity
A procedure without a named owner is a suggestion, and suggestions do not survive a busy week.

A plant six months old, partners who wanted real visibility, and an MIS to build. The work started on the floor rather than in Excel, and that is why the numbers meant something.

A friend of mine, Amarthiyash G M, recently invited me to visit his production facility. The plant's been operational for about six months, and the partners wanted an MIS that gave them real visibility into the business.
Before opening Excel, we spent a day walking the process first, not to inspect it, but to learn it.
We went through the entire flow: raw materials in, production planning, how inventory gets recorded, how units of measurement shift across different stages, how raw material price changes work their way into product costs, and how sales, purchases, billing and payments all connect down to the numbers the partners actually check every day.
That's context no report gives you. You only get it by asking someone to walk you through it.
Back at my desk, the MIS came together faster and made more sense because I knew where every number came from and what it actually meant. We also talked through a few practical changes that would simplify today's process while setting them up for more automation as they scale.
Businesses don't run on spreadsheets, they run on people, processes, and conversations. The spreadsheet just tells the story.
